China does not accept criticism or pressure regarding its relationship with Russia

China does not accept criticism or pressure regarding its relations with Russia.

China announced on Thursday, April 22, that it will not accept criticism or pressure regarding its relations with Russia. This stance was taken after Washington warned that if Moscow advances in Ukraine, Beijing will be held accountable.

Kurt Campbell, the US Deputy Secretary of State, said on Tuesday, April 21, that Washington will not stand idly by after Beijing extended its cooperation agreement with Moscow during a recent visit by senior Russian diplomats and will not declare the situation acceptable.

Mao Ning, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized in response that China and Russia have the right to engage in normal economic and trade cooperation. He added that this kind of cooperation should not be aimed at interference or restriction, and China also does not accept criticism or pressure.

Russia’s relations with China have deepened in recent years, and their strategic partnership has increased significantly since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
