The Chinese representative said U.S. and Israeli attacks disrupted nuclear inspections in Iran

The Chinese representative at the United Nations Security Council meeting stated that U.S. and Israeli military attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities have hindered the International Atomic Energy Agency’s inspections.

He considered the unilateral U.S. withdrawal from the JCPOA and the implementation of the maximum pressure policy as main factors of the current crisis and said the European troika has also not fulfilled its commitments.

The Chinese representative also emphasized the need to address the roots of the crisis and resolve Iran’s nuclear issue diplomatically, while pointing out the legal and procedural flaws of the snapback mechanism.
