The City Council’s Safety Committee is not satisfied with the speed of safety improvements at Aladdin Mall

The head of the Tehran City Council’s Safety Committee said we are not satisfied with the process and speed of safety improvements at Aladdin Mall and we ask the judiciary to take more serious action in this matter

According to ISNA, Mehdi Babaei added regarding the safety improvements at Aladdin Mall, with the follow-ups by the district 11 municipality, the owner was committed to completing the safety improvements by the end of June

However, the speed of actions at this mall is not approved by us and necessary legal actions should be taken as soon as possible

He stated that my expectation is for the judiciary to take necessary actions against the mall owner, saying it is up to the judge to decide whether it should be sealed or not

Perhaps with a warning to the owner, the safety improvement process will be implemented

Our goal is not closure, but rather safety improvements through legal methods

Babaei explained that given the importance of citizens’ lives and property, we expect the judiciary to engage more seriously than before in this issue
