The issue of the shrinking livelihood of the people during the year since President Raisi has been in office has recently been raised in various media outlets. However, some media close to or affiliated with the government have declared these claims to be incorrect, considering them a media play by political factions. Meanwhile, a report from the Statistical Center on inflation rate changes over the past year also confirms the shrinking livelihood of the people. A closer examination of these figures, which indicate Raisi’s government breaking records in the point-to-point inflation rate in July 2022, shows an unprecedented reduction in the people’s standard of living during Ebrahim Raisi’s presidency.
