The Secretary of the Concrete Producers Association stated that due to power outages, the price of cement has doubled in two weeks.

Mohammadreza Raeisi, Secretary of the Concrete Producers Association, criticized the widespread power outages in the cement and concrete industry, saying that the extensive power cuts, which began last year in August, have started this year in May, creating serious problems for the concrete industry.

He pointed to the widespread disruption in the production process, saying that many factories have either shut down or are operating at only half their capacity due to the power outages.

Following these disruptions, the price of cement has also increased unprecedentedly.

According to estimates, in just two weeks, the price of a ton of cement has risen from 2 million tomans to 4 million tomans, raising concerns about another increase in housing prices and the halting of construction projects.
