Controversial Talks of the Russian Defense Minister with His Western Counterparts
The Russian Defense Minister has had phone talks with the defense ministers of the United States and the United Kingdom. The phone conversation between Sergey Shoigu and Lloyd Austin, the U.S. Defense Secretary, was the second round of talks between the two in recent days and did not yield much favorable results for the Russians.
The U.S. stance, considering recent events in Ukraine, is stronger than before. Shoigu’s conversation with the British Defense Minister was held very seriously and candidly by the British official, who straightforwardly and even sarcastically dismissed the claims made by Shoigu about Western provocation and similar statements.
