A controversial video of oranges being dyed with industrial color was released.

Images shared on social media indicate that oranges are dyed after the washing stage. According to this video, during the coloring stage, the oranges pass through water mixed with industrial dye at a temperature of approximately 48 degrees Celsius.

Previously, Akbar Yavari, the head of the fruit sellers’ union, had also stated that farmers inject industrial dye into citrus fruits to make them colorful, and consuming oranges and tangerines from northern Iran is like poison for people.

According to this union official, the health department and the Ministry of Agriculture have no oversight over this process.
