It seems that the change in Sharif University’s presidency follows the inappropriate events at the graduation ceremony of students from the Kish campus of the university. At that time, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Science also tweeted that the Minister of Science had ordered an investigation and a report of the results within 48 hours, and legal and serious action will be taken against offenders at any level
Sharif University of Technology later announced in a statement that the graduation ceremony for 81 students from the international campus of Sharif University of Technology on Kish Island was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023
Unfortunately, in the final part of the ceremony, during the awarding of prizes and taking of group photos, instances of non-compliance with decorum and regulations were observed, which were not befitting the large family of Sharif University of Technology, leading to the refusal of the university president and the vice president of education and graduate studies to participate in awarding some of the prizes and the university president leaving the conference hall
Sharif University of Technology, while condemning the inappropriate behavior that occurred at the ceremony and apologizing to the families of martyrs and veterans and all supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced the university officials’ commitment to seriously dealing with those responsible for this incident and those who have been negligent or at fault in this matter as soon as possible
Following this incident, the president of the Kish International Campus of this university resigned, and Reza Yousefi was appointed as the acting head of the Sharif Kish International Campus
