The cooperation between the German and Iranian parliamentary group is suspended

Amid the recent tension in relations between Germany and the Islamic Republic, the cooperation of the German and Iranian parliamentary group is being suspended in response to the sanctioning of three members of Germany’s parliament by the Islamic Republic.

According to Deutsche Welle, Katja Mast, the executive director of the Social Democratic Party faction in Germany, described the sanctioning of the country’s parliament members by the Islamic Republic as absurd on Thursday, February 23, and announced that the exchanges between the parliamentary groups of the two countries will be suspended starting next week.
