Criticism of the Mona Lisa-ification of Mahsa Amini
HamMihan magazine might have thought that Mahsa’s death sparked a renaissance in Iran, and from this perspective, they chose the Mona Lisa’s smile, a work from the Renaissance period, and placed Mahsa on it.
The truth is, for two subjects to be superimposed, more specific reasons are needed. Mahsa is a victim, whereas Lisa del Giocondo was not a victim of any incident.
