The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has ordered the acceleration of the construction of the Fujairah pipeline
Official media announced on Friday, May 15, 2026, that the United Arab Emirates will expedite the construction of a new oil pipeline to bypass the Strait of Hormuz
This action comes after the war in the Middle East and Iran’s control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz have caused disruptions in the export of oil and gas from the Gulf countries through this vital waterway
This new pipeline is being built with the aim of increasing the capacity to transport oil and gas to the eastern shores of the UAE on the other side of the Strait of Hormuz
This pipeline, designed to transport oil from the western parts of the UAE to the port of Fujairah on the eastern shores, will double the transportation capacity of the state-owned oil company ADNOC and is expected to become operational in 2027
