Death of 900 Dolphins on the French Coast

At least 910 dolphin carcasses have been observed this winter on the Atlantic Ocean shores in France. The death rate of dolphins in this area has increased compared to previous years.

The rise in dolphin deaths in the coastal areas of the Atlantic Ocean in western France during the current winter season has caused concern among environmental and animal protection organizations.

While between 2017 and 2020, an average of about 850 dolphins were found dead each winter season on the Atlantic Ocean coasts of France, in the winter of 2022-2023, at least 910 dolphin carcasses have been washed ashore by the ocean waves.
