Death of a Male Lion in Alimnats Noor Complex

The Mazandaran Department of Environmental Protection announced on Tuesday, July 14, that a male lion has died in the Alimnats recreational tourism complex in Noor County.

In the statement from the Mazandaran Department of Environmental Protection, it was mentioned that the tourism complex announced on Tuesday that this adult male lion suffered complications during the process of being moved to a new location after sedation, did not respond to treatment, and died.

Zeinab Rahimi, an environmental journalist, reported earlier this year on April 6 about the death of a female lion and her unborn cubs in this tourism complex.

At that time, Ms. Rahimi wrote that there were three lions in the complex, two females and one male, and one of the females had died.

It seems that with the death of the male lion, only one female remains in the complex.

Environmental and animal rights activists have repeatedly criticized the keeping of animals in zoos and recreational complexes.
