Defendants in the case of the Evin Prison fire were sentenced to 265 years in prison

The defendants in the case of the Evin Prison arson were sentenced to 265 years in prison.

According to the official news agency of the judiciary, based on the verdict issued by Branch 2 of the Tehran Criminal Court for the Evin Prison arson case, 40 defendants in this case were collectively sentenced to 265 years in prison, five thousand and thirty-two lashes, full blood money, and complementary punishments.

According to the news agency Hrana, the verdict issued by Branch 1148 of the Tehran Criminal Court under the chairmanship of Judge Jabar Javadi Ramezani and communicated to the defendants, these forty prisoners have been sentenced to 265 years in prison, five thousand and thirty-two lashes, full blood money, and expulsion from Iran for charges including property destruction, disrupting prison order, defiance of orders, and involuntary manslaughter.

Currently, these 40 prisoners are serving their sentences in Tehran’s Great Prison and Karaj’s Ghezel Hesar Prison due to their previous cases.
