The demolition of the historical fabric of Shiraz has begun on the orders of Ebrahim Raisi.
Simultaneously with the destruction of another part of the historical fabric of Shiraz and the pressure on the residents of this area to forcibly relocate, experts warn about the irreparable cultural and historical consequences of this issue.
On Monday, 16th of Bahman, the Shargh newspaper reported that the plan to demolish the historical fabric of Shiraz, which had been halted for several years, resumed after Ebrahim Raisi’s provincial visit in the autumn.
Gholamhossein Mamarian, a university professor, has announced the countdown to the demolition of a large number of historical houses in the coming days and had warned the residents of this area that if they leave their homes, their water, electricity, and gas supply will be cut off.
Mr. Mamarian has referred to this action as an unforgivable mistake and a great betrayal of Iran’s history and culture.
