Denmark is set to make military service mandatory for women

Troels Lund Poulsen, the Danish Minister of Defense, announced that the country will soon make military service mandatory for women as well

This decision was made after parties agreed to expedite the passage of a bill on this matter

Initially, the changes were to be implemented from 2027, but now the reforms will be applied from mid-2025

According to these changes, women will be required to perform military service just like men, and if there are not enough volunteers, they may be conscripted

Danish women who turn 18 after July 1st of this year may be called up for military service in 2026

Of course, this bill still needs to be approved by parliament, but its approval seems almost certain
