The Vice President of Tehran’s Chamber of Guilds announced a ban on the import of IT goods on the eve of elections.
Mohammad Reza Faraji Tehrani, Vice President of Tehran’s Chamber of Guilds and President of the Computer Technicians’ Union, reported a sudden ban on the import of IT goods.
He stated that some importers have sold the relevant goods to government organizations and must fulfill their commitments. However, overnight and for unclear reasons, the import of certain IT items has been banned. This ban has caused confusion among the public and increased dissatisfaction among importers during this critical period.
We do not understand the purpose of this IT goods ban, especially during the presidential election period. Consumers in the market are looking to buy the relevant goods, but when they hear from the seller that the goods are not available, they become frustrated and discouraged.
Five days remain until the presidential election, and it is expected that the fourteenth president will be careful in selecting the ministers of Industry, Mining and Trade, and the Ministry of Economy. This is because, from the perspective of traders and merchants, 95% of the relevant managers in these ministries may perform well, but if 5% of these managers are inexperienced, they can disrupt the ministry’s system and single-handedly call into question the performance of the entire system and other managers.
