The Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance questioned whether the law requires someone to come on stage and perform music regarding the cancellation of Alireza Ghorbani’s concert.
The Deputy of Artistic Affairs of the Ministry of Culture criticized the statements made by the Deputy Governor of Isfahan regarding the prohibition of female musicians on stage in concerts in Isfahan, and a deputy of Ebrahim Raisi also called for institutions to respect the Ministry of Culture’s permits.
Mohammad Reza Jananathari, the Deputy Governor of Isfahan for Political, Security, and Social Affairs, stated on November 15 that the use of female musicians on stage does not have a legal definition and that the customs of Isfahan do not allow such an occurrence.
Mahmoud Salari, the Deputy of Artistic Affairs of the Ministry of Culture, who had previously mentioned that he called Alireza Ghorbani to apologize for the cancellation of his concert in Isfahan, said on Saturday, November 18, ‘Does the law require someone to come on stage and perform music?’
In an interview with ISNA News Agency, he accused Isfahan’s provincial officials of imposing personal preferences, stating that they have presented their tastes as religion and customs, and considered this somewhat unacceptable.
