The Deputy Minister of Tourism says we do not give foreign tourists a sense of security.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, pointing out the management weaknesses in organizing and attracting foreign tourists, said the most crucial issue for tourism development is the sense of security.

Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpei, on Sunday, September 6th, in a press conference at the Ministry of Health, mentioned the decline in foreign tourists in Iran, saying that in 2019, we had 9.8 million foreign tourists, but due to an incident involving an Azerbaijani national, we faced a decrease of 18 million Azerbaijani tourists.

He mentioned that Iran is ranked among the top 20 tourist-receiving countries but emphasized the weakness in advertising, saying that our expenditure on tourism advertising is 30 cents, while in Turkey, it is 10 dollars.
