Discovery of a 1200-year-old tomb filled with gold in Panama

The Ministry of Culture in Panama has announced that ancient tombs filled with gold and jewels have been found in an archaeological park in the country.

It is believed that in this tomb, located in the El Canyo Archaeological Park and dating back to the 8th century AD, a noble ruler was buried.

Alongside this local ruler, the remains of dozens of individuals who were sacrificed to accompany him in the afterlife have also been discovered.

Archaeologists inside this tomb have found collections of treasure, including gold bracelets, two belts with gold beads, crocodile-shaped earrings, gold-covered whale tooth necklaces, and circular gold plates.
