Dollar on the path of rising; the price of the US dollar reached 103,000 tomans
The price of various foreign currencies in Iran saw a sudden surge, with each US dollar increasing by five thousand tomans compared to the last day of the year 1403, surpassing the 100,000 toman mark
Reports from currency and coin rate websites in Iran indicate that the US dollar reached 103,500 tomans on Tuesday, the fifth of Farvardin, setting a new record in the history of the rial’s devaluation
Since Masoud Pezeshkian took office last August, the value of the Iranian rial has more than halved
The price of the US dollar was about 58,000 tomans in late August
The euro, the currency of the European Union, also increased to about 119,000 tomans, and each British pound was traded at 134,000 tomans
The rise in foreign currency prices comes as the price of gold coins remained largely unchanged, staying within the price range of the last days of the previous year, at 97 million tomans
The increase in foreign currency prices occurred amid numerous reports in recent weeks about the possibility of new negotiations between Iran and the US to reach a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear program
