Donald Trump’s Meeting with Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs

Ron Dermer, Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs, met with the U.S. President-elect at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, before Trump’s presidency began.

The news portal Axios, citing two Israeli and American sources, reported that Dermer informed Trump about Israel’s plans regarding the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Iran over the next two months until Trump’s inauguration. Axios did not provide further details but mentioned that Dermer also spoke with Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.

Ron Dermer, a politician from the Likud party, is considered one of the closest and most trusted individuals of Netanyahu in the Israeli government. Recently, before Trump’s election as U.S. President, he did not rule out the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.

In this interview, Dermer said that when it comes to nuclear weapons, which are the most dangerous weapons, and when a regime wants to destroy you and is trying to build nuclear weapons, you must take this threat very seriously.
