Dragan Skocic appointed as Tractor's head coach

Dragan Skočić became the head coach of Tractor.

Tractor Tabriz club announced that they have hired Dragan Skočić, the former head coach of the Iranian national football team, for the upcoming season of the Persian Gulf Pro League.

Tractor, who finished fourth last season, continued with Hamid Estili after the departure of their Spanish head coach, Paco Khems, who suddenly left Iran following Iran’s drone missile attack on Israel.

In the past few days, there have been numerous reports of stars like Mehdi Torabi and Danial Esmaeilifar joining Tractor, indicating the team’s efforts to have a strong presence in the new season and in Asian club competitions.

The 55-year-old Skočić has previously coached teams like Malavan, Foolad, Khoneh Be Khoneh, and Sanat Naft Abadan. He replaced Carlos Queiroz after the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and led the Iranian national team to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar but was relieved of his duties before that tournament, with Queiroz taking over.
