The Ministry of Education owes 44 trillion tomans to educators

The Parliamentary Research Center announced that the Ministry of Education’s debt in paying educators’ claims is approximately 44 trillion tomans in total.

An examination of the table of unpaid arrears and accumulated debts of this ministry in 2023 shows that the Ministry of Education’s debt to the country’s educators is equivalent to 16 percent of the ministry’s budget for the current year.

The report emphasized that with the current state of the Ministry of Education’s budget, paying these debts in 2024 is impossible, and we will once again face past challenges.

According to this, the largest debt of the Ministry of Education relates to the overdue ranking bonuses for the second half of 2021 for educators, amounting to more than 9,700 billion tomans.

Based on this table, which includes many items, there are still unpaid items such as the nursery costs for the years 2022 and 2023 and the final exam fees for 2023.
