FATA Police warns that publishing fake surveys is a crime during elections
The head of the FATA police said that republishing and spreading fake polls or false opinions that are reflected from unofficial sources and their origin is unclear regarding elections or election candidates, or publishing content against candidates is a crime. He stated that user activities should be based on laws, and users should be careful that publishing and republishing any content to encourage, provoke, or instigate reducing or sanctioning participation is illegal and criminal. Furthermore, inviting to gatherings, rallies, or any action that disrupts elections and is done in cyberspace is considered a crime. He added that republishing and spreading some fake polls or false opinions that are reflected from unofficial sources and their origin is unclear regarding elections or election candidates, or publishing content against election candidates that involves defamation, insult, false accusations, and expressing non-factual or unethical statements that can happen regarding the personal privacy of candidates is a crime. The head of the FATA police stated that publishing content regarding coercing, persuading, or threatening individuals to buy or sell votes, or publishing content to create fear and terror for those who want to vote, as well as publishing content regarding vote results, vote counting, and election results outside of authorized bodies are the main focus areas that users should pay necessary attention to when faced with news and information and should refer to the primary sources of news.
