Elham Afkari ended her hunger strike

Elham Afkari, one of the detainees from the widespread protests in Iran who is in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz, ended her hunger strike.

Her brother, Saeed Afkari, wrote on his personal page about this, saying my sister Elham Afkari broke her hunger strike after meeting with her daughter Liana.

Ms. Afkari had gone on a hunger strike in protest of her situation in prison.

The Shiraz Revolutionary Court sentenced Ms. Afkari to 5 years in prison, banned her from leaving the country, and prohibited her from engaging in social media activities for two years.

The Afkari family has been facing pressure from the security forces of the Islamic Republic since 2018, following the arrest of Navid, Habib, and Vahid Afkari.
