End of negotiations in Istanbul

Mohammad Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, after concluding talks with representatives from the UK, France, and Germany—the European Troika—wrote in a message on X: Dr. Takht Ravanchi and I had a serious, frank, and detailed discussion with the political directors of the three European countries and the European Union.

The latest developments regarding the lifting of sanctions and the nuclear issue were discussed and reviewed.

In the same message, Gharibabadi added that while seriously criticizing their positions regarding the recent aggressive war against our people, we explained our principled positions, including on the mechanism known as snapback. Both sides came to the meeting with specific ideas, and various aspects of these were examined.

It was agreed that consultations on this matter would continue.
