Erdogan demands the resignation of the President of the Turkish Football Federation

Yesterday, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were supposed to hold the Ataturk Super Cup match in Riyadh, wearing jerseys adorned with Ataturk’s image, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. However, Saudi officials did not allow it and the match was canceled.

Turkish media announced today that Erdogan has urgently requested the resignation of the President of the Turkish Football Federation due to the cancellation of the match.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has also demanded a compensation of $40 million from the Turkish Football Federation for the cancellation of the match.
