Erdogan, the President of Turkey, intends not to participate in the upcoming elections.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, has stated that he wants to change the constitution and will not participate in the next presidential election of the country.

Mr. Erdogan, upon returning from his trip to Hungary, told reporters that we do not want the new constitution for ourselves but for our country.

He further added that I have no interest in participating in the next elections or striving for the presidency.

Mr. Erdogan, referring to the ongoing study on Turkey’s constitution, said we need a new constitution that is presented by the citizens, not by coup designers.
