Etemad Newspaper Report: The Situation of Iranian Universities is Critical

1 Min Read

The Etemad newspaper reports that the situation of Iranian universities is critical.

The Etemad newspaper, published in Tehran, has described the trend of dismissing university professors as disastrous and has written that universities in Iran are on the verge of collapse. Those who are currently working in universities, especially in the faculties of humanities and social sciences, know that sooner or later they will receive a termination letter.

In this article, the Etemad newspaper considers the lack of independence of universities in Iran as a major problem and, referring to the dismissal of professors during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government, writes that in the thirteenth government, which has recently entered its third year of activity, young professors such as Arash Abazari, Mohammad Fazeli, Hossein Masbahian, Reza Omidi, Amir Maziar, Mohammad Ragheb, Amir Nikpay, and other professors have received termination letters from the university under various pretexts such as not fulfilling scientific commitments, not obtaining legal service extension points, and other different excuses.
