EU Calls Protesters’ Executions Horrifying

The European Union described the executions of the protesters as horrifying.

Hours after the execution of Karami and Hosseini, the European Union reacted to this action by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic.

The spokesperson for Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign policy coordinator, stated that the news of the execution of these two young protesters is horrifying.

The execution of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Mohammad Hosseini on Saturday, January 7, has prompted numerous domestic and international reactions and disgust from a larger number of human rights advocates.

Hannah Neumann, a representative of the Green Party in the European Parliament and a prominent politician active in human rights, said that the time for negotiations and rolling out the red carpet for Iranian politicians is over. Neumann wrote that we should treat them, the officials of the Islamic Republic, as they truly are: terrorists.
