European Union foreign ministers postponed the decision and discussion on Iran
European Union foreign ministers gathered in Brussels to discuss the Ukraine war, the lifting of sanctions on Syria, and Iran’s destabilizing role, but the discussion on Iran was postponed.
Kasra Naji, a BBC Persian reporter, asked Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign and security policy chief, in a press conference about Europe’s stance on the US’s maximum pressure policy.
Ms. Kaja Kallas responded that they wanted to discuss Iran, but due to the absence of some important foreign ministers, the meeting was postponed to March.
Without naming which foreign minister was absent, she only mentioned that the foreign ministers of the three European countries, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, who were part of the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, were present.
It was expected that the nuclear program and European prisoners in Iran would be among the topics of discussion at this meeting.
