European Union leaders called for a halt to the clashes in Gaza.

On Friday, European Union leaders urged for a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hamas in order to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. This decision was reached after several days of disagreement among EU member states.

In a statement agreed upon by the leaders of the 27 EU countries at the Brussels summit, they expressed deep concern for the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and demanded continuous, rapid, safe, and unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
