The representative of the European Union is calling for the extension of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur in Iran.

Prior to presenting a new report by Javaid Rahman on the human rights situation in Iran, the representatives of the European Union and France called for the extension of the Special Rapporteur’s mission and expressed concerns about the dire human rights situation in Iran.

Representatives from Israel, Macedonia, and Luxembourg also expressed concerns about executions, suppression of minorities, and unlawful detention of women and religious minorities.
