Arrest of the Corruption Network Leaders in the Judiciary

Following a report by investigative journalist Saeed Aghanji in the field of anti-corruption and with announcements from some media affiliated with the judiciary, several corrupt members of this network have been arrested and are on their way to court after this revelation. This network focused on exerting influence in the appointment and removal of individuals of their choice in sensitive and important positions, engaging in lobbying and interfering in judicial matters. So far, Ali Kazemi, the main member and leader of this network, has been arrested and handed over to judicial authorities.

Ali Kazemi, in one of the most significant corruption cases involving Mehdi Abouri, CEO of Ahdaaf Company, led to nearly eight major cases filed by the General Inspection Organization against Abouri, with accusations such as abuse of job position, squandering public funds, bribery, and forming an embezzlement network, all being declared closed. According to Aghanji’s investigative reports, Ali Kazemi managed to carry out such criminal actions through bribery or coercion.

Meanwhile, the main supporter and behind-the-scenes figure for Mehdi Abouri is none other than Abdullah Abdi, the controversial owner of the Miyankaleh petrochemical and a steel trader. The efforts of this network to appoint Mehdi Abouri at the critical juncture of the hardworking staff of the oil industry, namely the Oil Industry Retirement Fund, continue. This event could pave the way for one of the most historic financial corruptions in this field. Currently, with the arrest of Ali Kazemi and also the news of the arrest of Mohsen Kouzehgar, another member of this corruption and bribery network, the voice of greed and corruption of this group has somewhat subsided. Iran Gate will soon provide an independent report on the behind-the-scenes violations of this network in Oman as well.
