Paknejad and Oil Trustees Under the Parliament’s Microscope
While Saeed Aghanji, an investigative journalist in the field of corruption, recently unveiled the activities of Hossein Aghayari, explaining that through the support of Paknejad, the Minister of Oil, and his main backer, Saeed Sadeghi, he has not returned billions of dollars of oil money and has caused significant harm to the country’s banking network, particularly the National Export Development and Tourism Banks, due to the maturity of his guarantees. Yet, he continues his activities without any legal repercussions. The support from Paknejad, the Minister of Oil, and Saeed Sadeghi for senior managers in the international oil sector has reached a point where the lack of pursuit and demand from Hossein Aghayari has prompted a reaction from Hossein Samsami, a member of the Parliament’s Economic Commission.
According to the Iran Gate News Agency, Hossein Samsami, a member of the Parliament’s Economic Commission, commented on the Parliament’s involvement in the issue of trustees who have been appointed by the government over the past year, sold oil, but have not returned the foreign currency earned from the oil sales to the country. In recent months, they have sent several fake SWIFTs to the Ministry of Oil and the NICO company. He stated that in the matter of non-oil exporters’ foreign currency commitments, we proved that $95 billion of foreign currency from exports has not returned to the official economic cycle of the country. While some denied this report, we proved with strong documents and thorough investigations that this amount of export currency did not return to the official economic cycle, and the report was confirmed. However, the issue of trustees who did not return the oil money has its specific issues, and the Parliament has also addressed this matter.
Samsami continued, stating that Zanjani was given a two-month deadline to settle his debts, and this two-month period has ended, but it is still unclear whether Zanjani has settled the debt. It seems Zanjani has announced that he himself is selling the nickels, and now that Zanjani’s two-month deadline has ended, the supervisory bodies and the judiciary must step in and follow up on the matter. This member of the Parliament’s Economic Commission, referring to the identity of these trustees, said we have heard that an individual named H. A., referring to Hossein Aghayari, sold the country’s oil in recent months but did not deliver the foreign currency to the country and is currently residing in the UAE. It seems that in the not too distant future, we will witness significant events around the Ministry of Oil and the oil sales network.
