Execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, an Iranian-German citizen

Following the execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, a dual-national Iranian-German citizen, the German Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian chargé d’affaires in Germany and also recalled its ambassador from Tehran.

In response to the execution of Jamshid Sharmahd in Iran, the German Foreign Ministry, which had previously condemned the act, announced that it summoned the Iranian chargé d’affaires to the German Foreign Ministry today, Tuesday.

The German Foreign Ministry stated on its official page on the social network X, announcing this matter, ‘We have expressed our strong protest against this action to the Iranian government and reserve the right to take additional measures in this regard.’

The ministry also announced that the German ambassador in Tehran met with the Iranian Foreign Minister today and expressed the strongest protest regarding Sharmahd’s execution. Subsequently, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called the ambassador back to Berlin for consultations.
