Extremists are lying in wait

Extremists are lying in wait, so it’s necessary to remind a few points to the honorable representative of Tehran and the associate professor of philosophy at Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi Institute.

Nabavian likely refers to the appointment of the government spokesperson, who has been under coordinated attack from well-known social media users, Kayhan newspaper, and some extremist political figures since the news of her appointment was announced.

The pretext for the attack is that Fatemeh Mohajerani, during the elections, said in a speech that as a mother, she would not allow another Mehshad Shahidi to fall to the ground, and she would not allow a handful of totalitarians to fill our streets with the blood of young people.

The Tehran representative should clarify what issue exists with this statement and similar remarks.

Who wants another Mehshad Shahidi to fall to the ground? In fact, who wants blood to be shed in a protest? This type of remark stems from a mindset that prefers to erase the problem and only seeks approval from politicians, analysts, journalists, and society.

Previously, there was also a discussion about the executive deputy of the medical staff, questioning why he spoke about the eye injuries of protesters in 2022.

Issuing a blanket statement of chaos or sedition for a series of events like those that happened in Iran in 2022 closes the path to proper analysis.

With the issuance of these judgments, there is neither a background nor accumulated dissatisfaction, nor has any mistake occurred.

Everything that happens is a scenario from start to finish.

While a wave of protests arises within the country, sometimes due to a long-standing erroneous law, protests in 2022 after Mahsa were in response to a critical situation, the water protests in Khuzestan in 2021, the sudden implementation of a decisive decision on fuel price hikes in 2019, or the countless unanswered questions and ambiguities of the events of 2009. Is every protest that occurs in our country a foreign scenario? If so, we must say farewell to the country because the adversary manages to disrupt this country every few years.

In this mindset, when an analysis is to be conducted, like what we read these days in Kayhan and its affiliates or by well-known users on Twitter who start a wave, they talk about Arman Aliwardi and Rouhollah Ajmiyan but remain silent about the Zahedan shootings, and the Kayhan writer allows himself to deny the eye injuries.

Even now, when they want to mention Mahsa Amini or analyze an issue, they use words that conceal a kind of hostility within them.

The mindset from which Mr. Nabavian comes does not believe that the roots of protest exist in Iran, and to make things easy for himself and erase the problem, he issues a blanket statement of chaos to end the matter and uses this statement as a benchmark to measure others against how much they align with his criteria.

Another aspect of Seyed Mahmoud Nabavian’s remarks is the warnings that were raised after the results of the fourteenth election were announced. The possibility of creating a crisis seems to be that the medical staff intends to rectify some of the previous wrong actions, such as purging professors and students, under the strategy of national unity.

It is still unclear whether he has made agreements to resolve the hijab issue and end police confrontations within the government or not. The issue of de-escalating foreign policy is also on the table.

Any of these cases is enough for Mr. Nabavian’s ideological stream to feel that the revolution has deviated from its path and something must be done.

The honeymoon of the government will soon end, and as in the past, it is planned that the extensive organization of the IRIB, several news agencies, at least two newspapers, Friday prayer tribunes across the country, especially in Mashhad, will return to the settings before 2021 unless the trajectory has really changed, in which case the return to factory settings is not ruled out but will be less intense because, in any case, someone like the Friday prayer leader of Mashhad considers himself very independent.

We must see where the first point of confrontation between the extremists and the fourteenth government will be. Remember December 2017.
