Eyravani: Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz are in accordance with international law
Amir Saeid Eyravani, Iran’s representative to the United Nations, stated that the Islamic Republic’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz have been legal and in line with international law.
During a UN Security Council meeting, he emphasized that Iran could not allow the Strait of Hormuz to become a passageway for hostile actions and military aggression against its interests and sovereignty.
Eyravani also accused the United States of unilateralism and illegal intervention, stating that no country should assume it will be safe from Washington’s interventionist policies.
The Iranian representative to the UN claimed that the United States and Israel have targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure in recent attacks.
He also accused some regional countries of playing a role in attacks against Iran by providing their territories and facilities.
In another part of his remarks, Eyravani said that some countries are ignoring the root causes of the crisis and are trying to hold Iran responsible for the tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
