Faghani will not referee in the Round of 16.
The name of Iran’s international football referee is not on the list of referees for the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
The list of referees for the remaining Round of 16 World Cup matches has been announced, and accordingly, Ismail Elfath from the USA, Clement Turpin from France, Fernando Rapallini from Argentina, and Cesar Ramos from Switzerland will officiate the four remaining matches of this stage.
We have to wait and see if FIFA will use Alireza Faghani in the continuation of the World Cup competitions or not.
Faghani has previously officiated two group stage matches: Brazil vs. Serbia and Portugal vs. Uruguay, and his decision after using VAR in the Portugal vs. Uruguay match caused controversy.
