The family legal advisor, Hamid Nouri, stated that his final verdict in the appellate court in Sweden will be announced on Tuesday, December 19th.
According to the MIZAN news agency, Hiwa Talla Nezhadimanesh said that if the immediate court ruling is upheld in the appellate stage, there is a possibility of referring the case to the Supreme Court of Sweden.
Hamid Nouri was sentenced to life imprisonment on July 14, 2022, by the Stockholm District Court for his involvement in the mass executions of political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj city in 1988.
The appellate court proceedings for Hamid Nouri began in early February of last year and concluded on November 17th after about 20 sessions in Stockholm, Sweden.
The family legal advisor of Hamid Nouri stated regarding the referral to the European Court of Human Rights in this case that if the immediate court ruling is confirmed in the appellate stage, the condition for referring to the European Court of Human Rights is that all domestic stages in Sweden have been completed and a final verdict has been issued, and no other option is available.
Mr. Nezhadimanesh stated that in this case, issues such as the violation of fair trial, the violation of fundamental and human rights of Hamid Nouri as a detained person, have occurred.
Hamid Nouri, also known as Abbasi, was arrested four years ago on November 18, 1398 (November 9, 2019) upon entering Stockholm Airport on suspicion of involvement in war crimes and intentional murder, based on a court order in Sweden.
