Faraman Moradi, a famous maker of traditional Iranian instruments, has passed away.
Faraman Moradi passed away at the age of 77.
He was born in 1326 in Kermanshah and started his artistic career in 1349 at the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Music.
Mr. Moradi was in charge and a teacher of the instrument-making workshop at this center, benefiting from the guidance of musicians and players such as Dariush Safvat, Ahmad Ebadi, Saeed Hormozi, and Youssef Foroutan in making Iranian instruments.
The scholarly guidance of Noor Ali Elahi, a prominent tanbour player, helped Mr. Moradi to have a special model in making this instrument.
A book titled ‘Sooz o Saaz, Eshghi’ (Passion for Music and Instrument) remains from him, which is about the art and life of his master, Mohammad Navai, known as Eshghi, and was published by Tasneef Publication.
