Fars News Agency: Colonel Afshari killed in Syria bombing

Official media in Iran have reported the death of an Air Force Colonel in the IRGC following a bombing in Syria.

According to Fars, Colonel Ahmadreza Afshari was injured in Syria in early August and was transferred to Iran, but passed away on Thursday due to the severity of his injuries.

Two weeks ago, rumors circulated about an airstrike in Damascus and the death of Air Force Commander Amirali Hajizadeh, coinciding with the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, which was officially denied.

Fars News Agency has attributed the killing of Colonel Afshari to the coalition invading Syria, which could be a reference to the US coalition.
