Fars News Agency: President's Bodyguard Was Absent in the President's Helicopter

Fars News Agency reported that President Rouhani’s bodyguard was not present on the helicopter with the President.

Fars News Agency wrote yesterday morning that a photo of Javad Mahrabi, one of the President’s bodyguards, was mistakenly published as being killed in the helicopter crash incident.

The number of casualties in the President’s helicopter crash incident is 8, and the news circulating on social media about one of the President’s bodyguards being killed is incorrect.

Fars reporter’s investigations show that Mahrabi had traveled towards Varzaghan with another helicopter and was not present on President Rouhani’s helicopter. Only the body of Brigadier General Mehdi Mousavi, the head of the President’s protection unit, was transferred to the Shrine of the Martyrs of Tabriz.

According to the East Azerbaijan Governorate, the names of the casualties in the helicopter crash incident are as follows:

1. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President

2. Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem, Friday Imam of Tabriz

3. Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs

4. Malek Rahmati, Governor of East Azerbaijan

5. Brigadier General Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi, Head of the President’s Protection Unit

6. Colonel Pilot Seyyed Taher Mostafavi

7. Colonel Pilot Mohsen Daryanoush

8. Technical Colonel Behrouz Ghadimi
