Fars News Agency’s Attack on Ali Karimi

Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, emphasized Ali Karimi being 44 years old, trying to suggest that he seeks attention through political and social activism due to a lack of opportunities to shine on the football field.

However, this news agency forgets that in 2009, when Karimi was 29 and a star of the national team, he stood with the people by wearing a green wristband during a national game. This is not the first time media affiliated with hardline factions clumsily attack popular figures who have different approaches and behaviors from them. Recently, after the death of Mahsa Amini, Ali Karimi, as always, stood by the people and did not care about such defamations and slanders.
