These negotiations, based on a joint plan announced a week ago by the US, Egypt, and Qatar, have called on both sides involved in Gaza to come to the negotiation table. Brett McGurk, a senior member of Biden’s foreign policy team, has been engaged in negotiations in Egypt, and Amos Hochstein is also in Beirut negotiating to reduce tensions between Hezbollah and Israel.
Biden’s team has entered the field with full force; Qatar is responsible for representing Hamas in the negotiations, and this organization will send its representatives if satisfied with the negotiation process.
