The field of ‘Promotion of Virtue’ will be established in universities.
The head of the Headquarters for Reviving the Insight of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice said that a field at the master’s and doctoral levels titled ‘Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice’ is going to be launched, and educational content in this area will be produced.
He continued, mentioning that at the Headquarters for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a department named the Scientific and Educational Department has been formed. The task of this department is to prepare educational content for advocacy groups, and a course unit is supposed to be defined and taught in universities.
Mehrdad Samadi added in a webinar on Sunday night during the virtual session explaining the new approaches of the Headquarters for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice that hijab and modesty are very important, but there are other areas we should not neglect. For example, if today we advise a fellow citizen to wear a mask, or if we tell a pedestrian to use the crosswalk or pedestrian bridge, we are promoting virtue. And if we tell a fellow citizen not to take unnecessary trips, or if a driver is told not to run a red light, or if we advise a shopkeeper not to overcharge, or if we tell a neighbor not to wash their car with drinking water, we are preventing vice.
