The producer of the film ‘Daste Dokhtaran’ says showing Fereshteh Hosseini’s photo with a victory sign is banned.
Mohammadreza Mansouri, the producer of the film ‘Daste Dokhtaran’, has stated that displaying an image of Fereshteh Hosseini raising her fingers in a victory sign is prohibited in the city.
In an interview on a television program, he also mentioned other restrictions for producing his film, saying, ‘We had to show all these women wearing something similar to a chador. Today, we cannot display Fereshteh Hosseini’s photo with her fingers raised in a victory sign in the city because they say it is banned.’
The film ‘Daste Dokhtaran’, released in 2021, depicts the resistance of a number of women from different social backgrounds during the days leading up to the fall of Khorramshahr in the war.
Fereshteh Hosseini is among the Iranian cinema actors who boycotted the Fajr Film Festival in support of recent protests and did not participate in it.
During the recent protests, restrictions and pressures increased on cinema actors who supported these protests. Some were arrested, and some were banned from appearing on screen and from working.
