Filming of Emily in Paris Season 5 Halted After Crew Member’s Death

Filming of the fifth season of Emily in Paris was halted after the death of a crew member.

The assistant director of the popular series Emily in Paris passed away during the filming of its fifth season in Venice.

According to the newspaper La Repubblica, doctors were called to the Hotel Danieli in the city at around 1900 local time on Thursday, but they could not save 47-year-old Diego Borla.

A spokesperson for Paramount Television Studios, which produces the series for Netflix, told BBC News, ‘We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family.’

La Repubblica reports that Borla collapsed in front of his colleagues while preparing for a scene and then passed away.

The newspaper added that the series’ medical team attempted to revive Borla, but he died at the scene.

Reports indicate that filming of Emily in Paris has been temporarily halted following his death.

The romantic comedy series Emily in Paris first premiered during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
