The former CEO of Bank Saderat: This year’s inflation will reach 50 percent

Ahmad Hatami Yazdi: When there is a large amount of liquidity in society and people use this money to make purchases, if the production or import of goods has not increased, a lot of money is chasing a small amount of goods, which leads to an increase in the inflation rate.

Typically, liquidity increases peak in the last quarter of the year because they want to pay the salaries and bonuses of employees, retirees, and workers at the end of the year, which increases expenses.

The government doesn’t have a budget, so it is forced to print money. As a result, the increase in liquidity in the last quarter of the year is likely to be equivalent to 23 percent, similar to the first half. In this situation, I expect this year’s inflation to reach 50 percent.
